Manager / Senior Manager – Strategic Pricing
The Revenue team at Weedmaps is looking to add a strategic and analytical leader to the team to help set pricing strategy across Weedmaps’ suite of products. Based in either LA or Irvine, this role will be responsible for developing all pricing recommendations for core products, building technology / analytics to optimize the pricing process, designing experiments to surface pricing insights, and building a discounting and upfronts strategy for strategic accounts.
As Manager / Senior Manager – Strategic Pricing, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of Weedmaps inventory, while also ensuring positive ROI for clients to enable us to build a sustainable business. The right person will be grounded in pricing methodologies / analytical approaches (especially for digital media), while being able to adjust to the dynamics of a rapidly changing industry.
Develop and lead quarterly pricing review process
Gather ongoing feedback from sales team on pricing
Benchmark Weedmaps pricing against competitors and other digital media
Develop recommendations to optimize revenue / yield of dynamically priced products
Develop recommendations to increase add-on / feature revenue
Work with engineering and business operations to develop tooling to enable faster pricing decisions / optimizations
Develop pricing strategies / tests for emerging markets
Build framework / process for discounting and coupons
Work with sales on upfronts strategy for strategic accounts
Communicate key insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
3-5 years experience with pricing, yield management, or revenue strategy in high-tech company (digital media a plus)
Strong analytics capability, and eagerness / willingness to dive into data
Creative problem solver, able to back new ideas with data
Comfort with, and ability to operate at an aggressive, accelerated, iterative pace in a dynamic environment
Strong planning and organizational skills
Excellent communications skills including, presenting, editing, and writing as well as accuracy and attention to detail required
