Director, Product Marketing
We are seeking an experienced Director, Product Marketing based in our Irvine, California headquarters to lead our Product Marketing team in support of all of Weedmaps’ B2B and B2C products.
You will be responsible for building industry-leading Product Marketing capabilities across: User and customer insights, market and competitive research, segmentation, go-to-market, launches, product knowledge and education, and user acquisition.
You and your team will partner with Product, Sales, Marketing and other cross-functional teams to lead a complete effort to raise adoption of Weedmaps among cannabis consumers and enterprises everywhere by developing seamless and engaging user journeys across interest, discovery, consideration, action, retention.
You are a well-rounded, passionate but humble, data-driven individual that has demonstrated sound business, product and marketing sense. You lead by example, are great at prioritizing, and are able to motivate and build a small and scrappy team to do the best work of their careers. You are more than willing to pull up your sleeves to get things done, on top of working through higher-level strategic issues.
Your efforts will result in a clear understanding and segmentation of our users and customers, product-market fit and accelerated growth across our portfolio of products, and a high-performing Product Marketing team.

Lead, build and develop a team of Product Marketers
Own consumer and customer segmentation
Drive frameworks and programs for capturing and analyzing user and customer feedback, insights, market research, and represent the voice of our users and customers internally
Develop actionable data-driven insights to inform product and go-to-market strategy
Partner with Analytics and Product to develop dashboards and other methods of tracking and understanding user behavior and product performance
Develop naming, positioning, messaging, education for our products
Develop innovative strategies and plans to drive product awareness, adoption, and engagement
Build and optimize new user and customer acquisition campaigns and programs across all available Marketing and Sales channels
Build and optimize campaigns and programs to drive retention of users and customers
Socialize and get buy-in for marketing strategy and programs, working closely with key stakeholders across the business
Align and prioritize Product Marketing initiatives to business objectives
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
9+ combined years of experience in B2C and B2B Product Marketing
Function-specific skills and experience: Research, positioning, messaging, naming, branding, go-to-market planning, marketing asset development, campaign execution, Sales enablement, analyzing product and marketing data, etc.
Passion for working with technology products and solving user and customer needs
Strong track-record of setting and delivering against measurable marketing metrics
Strong track-record of developing research, segmentation, positioning, messaging, branding, creative development, campaign execution, go-to-market planning
Strong track-record of launching tech products and rolling out scaled marketing campaigns
Strong track-record of growing product adoption, engagement, retention, customer success
Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Proven ability to develop creative, non-traditional solutions for challenging, undefined problems
Strong project management skills, with experience developing and executing marketing strategy successfully while collaborating cross-functionally and building consensus
Ability to identify and implement scalable process improvements using a data-driven approach
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce.com or similar), marketing automation tools (Iterable or similar) and tracking and analytics tools (Google Analytics or similar) to assess campaign effectiveness
Excellent communication skills in business and technical situations
Proven track-record of working with and influencing senior leadership
