What You’ll Do
As a member of our Payroll Division, you’ll take part in pioneering a brand new division with an already established company in the HR space. We’ll look to you as a payroll expert to assist our clients in their payroll processing. You will have a front line view of, and an impact on the different ways companies run their payroll in various states—Think of the exposure you’ll have in interacting with other payroll professionals in various industries!
Here’s where your payroll experience comes in: When our clients come across a roadblock, your goal is to set people free to do great work! And your experience in processing payroll in multiple states, as well as your knowledge regarding deductions, withholdings, garnishments, and other payroll functions will be integral to your success in this role.
Specifically, you will:
Walk clients through solutions to their inquiries regarding deductions, garnishments, multi-state tax laws, and the BambooHR payroll software via phone, email, or chat
Mentor team members on payroll topics and processes
Tackle on departmental and interdepartmental projects
What You Need to Get the Job Done
Let’s get this one out of the way: Years of experience. Experience is relative; meaning that four years of payroll experience in one company can be very different than four years of experience in another. So instead of giving you a hard number, we’re more interested in the experience and knowledge you’ve acquired over the years and the professional you’ve become.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
Experience processing and calculating multi-state payroll in a PEO or as an internal payroll processor
Experience processing various payroll types with various pay frequencies
Knowledge of deductions, withholdings, amendments, garnishments, and other payroll functions
Impeccable attention to detail (we do screen for this!)
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously (multitasking) with ease
Ability to type 60+ words per minute
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn new software (this is a software company, come on now)
