The VP, Retail Stores will contribute to MedMen’s success by creating the direction and leadership for MedMen’s retail strategy and business planning. This is a key role for the and is an integral part of MedMen’s long-term growth strategy. In this critical role, the qualified individual will be responsible for leading all aspects of MedMen’s retail store expansion strategy and will focus on delivering consistency in the customer experience as well as an integrated omni-channel customer experience. This role will require strong partnership with key leaders across the company in the areas of operations, hospitality, marketing, visual merchandising, supply chain operations, and technology.
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in building and executing on a retail store strategy in an industry specific to the Cannabis industry and/or experience with contemporary retail brands.

Lead with compelling strategic vision that is in alignment with the Company’s short and long-term goals and strategic plan.
Clearly creating a retail strategy, engaging key stakeholders and executing on a plan that is in alignment with MedMen’s long-range plan to drive revenue and increase market share. This will include developing strategic and operational plans for the team, managing execution, measuring and delivering results.
Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks in order to recommend strategies and tactics for current and future store locations.
Work closely with marketing to establish successful support, channel and partner programs.
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
Directly responsible for the strategic and operational plan to support global retail expansion, inclusive of short-term and long-term business and financial goals in support of MedMen’s strategic plan for growth.
Expertise in real estate strategies including a deep understanding of how to translate demographic and other data in determining the right locations for new stores.
Partner closely with Compliance team to ensure all regulations by State are adhered to.
Identify opportunities, develop strategies, present recommendations and implement programs that will enhance retail store operational effectiveness and service strategies that differentiate MedMen from competitors by being a best-in-class retailer and community outpost.
Work with VP of Operations to create a scalable and standardized policies and procedures that support the growth of the direct retail business and continued safety of MedMen’s customer.
Partner with planning and allocation to identify product opportunities and maximum sales plan
Operate with strong business acumen, drive topline sales and hold accountability for overall profitability for all MedMen’s retail stores.
Work with VP of Visual Presentation for product displays and new store fixtures to maximize $ per sq.
Partner with VP of Hospitality to manage customer experience and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
Develop and mentor the next generation of exceptional leadership talent for our growing retail organization.
A. or B.S. degree.
10+ years of successful leadership experience operating multiple retail stores nationally.
Must have experience with global or multi-region leadership responsibility, including remote team oversight.
Must have experience as a manager who can influence people, processes and technology choices in a manner that enriches the company’s culture and overall sales team performance.
Must be customer focused, both internal and external to the Company
Must be an outstanding servant leader, with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Must be business savvy and have the ability to grasp the business model and strategic plans of the enterprise.
Must be highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and relationships across the board with business unit leadership as well as with the company’s external consumer, wholesale, retail and cross-functional partners.
Must be a consummate team player, putting others before self, and actively engage stakeholders at all levels.
Must have proven experience in strategic and organizational development, including the ability to attract, develop and retain world class talent.
Must have a successful track record of leadership in a complex global matrix structure, where influencing skills are critical.
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Supervises staff, including hiring, reviewing performance, and recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
Manages others through subordinate supervisors.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
This position requires extensive travel.
