MedMen’s Technology team is seeking a technical Program Manager with cybersecurity experience. The core responsibility of the position is to drive, accelerate, and measure complex security initiatives throughout their lifecycles. The Program Manager will play a critical role ensuring that MedMen meets its security and privacy project timeline goals. An ideal candidate will possess deep understanding of Agile project methods, the ability to break down strategic goals into tactical timelines, as well as skillful time estimation and tracking. Successful execution requires coordination across technical and non-technical teams, creative solutions to roadblocks, project research, progress metrics, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong desire to grow as a security expert.
Program management for MedMen’s InfoSec team, including reporting on project schedules, progress, and priorities on weekly basis
Organizes workload from large phases to detailed tasks such as management of dependencies, risk mitigation, and executive reporting
Guides security priorities using Agile framework to continuously improve efficiency within the team structure and project
Leads weekly Agile standup meetings as well as technical working sessions to prioritize workloads, overcome obstacles, and get backlogged work moving toward production
Collaborates with Product Management to understand design and feature tradeoffs from a security perspective
Removes technical obstacles, enhances processes, addresses resource challenges, and interacts with multidisciplinary teams to assure sprint iteration and successful project releases
Maintains awareness of product and development projects to ensure Information Security is integrated into current and future deployment roadmaps
Advocates for security initiatives across the broader enterprise
Monitors trends and challenges in both Information Security and cannabis industries
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an information security related field, or applicable experience
At least 5 years of technical Program Management experience including more than 1 year of cybersecurity program management experience
Knowledge of fundamental cybersecurity concepts like access controls and encryption
Skills and demonstrated accomplishments using Agile management methodologies
Tools and software skills including mastery of Jira project management and Microsoft Office suite
Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and speak clearly for technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
Ability to champion Information Security across the technology team and entire organization
Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts, facilitate discussions, and guide people toward goals in an Agile technology environment
Exceptional critical thinking skills including the ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement sensible solutions
