Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain complete records and inventories using Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory.
Continuous improvement and innovation of tissue culture techniques for Cannabis.
Clean, sterilize and maintain equipment and facilities.
Operate equipment including laminar flow hood, media preparator, media filler.
Select live material with desired characteristics.
Prepare selected tissues for production using aseptic technique
Record data using logs, notebooks and batch records. Follow strict SOPs for research and development, and production.
Execute with high level of accuracy doing repetitive tasks
Ensuring the laboratory is well stocked and resourced. Effectively communicate with the Lab Manager for supply orders.
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable with highly repetitive tasks with hand and wrist movements
Able to follow strict SOPs, GDP, and GLP
Excellent reporting skills
Ability to use sterile/aseptic technique effectively
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma/Bachelors’ degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Biology with experience in Plant Tissue Culture
Must pass RCMP Criminal Records Check
Must be self-motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment
